Video Making Process | | |
Video Making Steps: The process of making your home video contains three steps: Shooting, editing and preparing for the show. Although it is possible to make a bad video look good in editing, you obviously need to put in a lot of time and effort. You can shorten editing time if you pay enough attention to shooting. It is possible to shoot a complete video on camcorder by putting a lot of time and attention in shooting without any need to edit later on the computer, however, your final product will look nicer and more professional by editing on the computer. Therefore, shooting and editing are equally important. By paying enough attention to each step you can have a good video in a decent amount of time

Time Budgeting: You do not have infinite time to do a home
video. Budget your time for each video you make. If it is a very
important video that for example you want to give to your partner as a
gift, then you may want to put more time in shooting and editing.
However, if it is an everyday life video from your trips or parties,
then you should think about how much footage you take and insure that
it does not cause you endless hours of editing. Remember, video tapes
are cheap these days, but your time is not. So try not to tape
insignificant detail. Through experimentation you will learn what to
shoot and for how long. You will get better with each shooting and
editing session. Try to shoot less in the beginning to learn the
process.

Exercises: Doing the projects and exercises in these lessons is
up to you, but it is highly recommended. Projects are designed to walk
you through the steps and ease the learning process.
